Do you have a greater vision for your children?

As a Christian parent, what vision do you have for your children regarding their discipleship to Jesus?  Many parents would have the hope that their children would grow up to be Christians and to that end they hope that their children have a positive experience of church.  However I would like to suggest that we need to have a greater vision for our children and their discipleship.

Taking a lead from Jesus who said
'anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.' (John 14:12):

We should look for our children to have
  • a deeper experience of God,
  • a greater level of Christlikeness and
  • more experience of God's power
at a younger age than us.

In what ways do you think a vision like this might change our mindsets and our actions?
How might it change overall outcomes across the church?
Please post your comments.
